Christina Hall's estranged husband Josh Hall is focusing on his health and his faith in the wake of their breakup.
Less than two weeks after the former couple filed for divorce, a source familiar with the matter shared insight into the entrepreneur’s well-being.
“Now that they’ve split, we hear he’s spending some time in Nashville, where he’s been hitting the gym and attending church regularly," the insider told E! News July 26. "He’s focusing on finding the light at the end of the tunnel as he has to completely start over."
The source continued, "He's optimistic for what's next but wishes nothing but the best for Christina and her kids."
The HGTV star—who shares children Taylor El Moussa, 13, and Brayden El Moussa, 8, with ex-husband Tarek El Moussa, and son Hudson Anstead with Ant Anstead—and Josh both filed for divorce July 16 after more than two years of marriage.
"All marriages have their ups and downs, but Josh never expected his relationship with Christina to end like this,” the source told E! News. "Josh isn’t a flashy guy. He was a medically retired cop and real estate investor when he met Christina, and he devoted the past few years to Christina and her kids."
The insider added that "24/7, his social, professional, and romantic lives revolved around Christina" and noted the two were recently filming the HGTV series The Flip Off, which they were set to star opposite Tarek and his wife Heather El Moussa.
The series will now continue on without Josh, a separate source told E! last week.
"They grew together as a unit and together purchased their dream home in Newport Beach, Calif., where Christina has continued to reside since their separation," the insider continued. "Josh's priority was always Christina. He loved her dearly, and he’s very sad this is how things ended."
E! News has reached out to Christina's rep for comment and has not heard back.
As for Christina, she spoke out about the break up on social media and in court documents, where she accused Josh, in a filing obtained by E! News, of making an unauthorized transfer of over $35,000 to his own bank account one day after she says they separated.
"I have worked my a-- off to build this life for myself and my children and anyone who would try and take what they do not deserve/what they did NOT work for should be ashamed," she wrote on her Instagram Stories July 25. “An insecure man with a large ego can sure try and derail you- but 'still i rise.'"
She added, "Divorces do not happen overnight,” she wrote, “& there is always a breaking point. This one is personal.”
Look back at a timeline of Christina and Josh's relationship...
Sparks flew while Christina and Josh started spending time together. The couple recreated their March 2021 date a year later.
While on vacation for Christina's birthday, the two posed for a photo on the beach and made their relationship Instagram official.
Months in, Christina had a message for any haters, noting she'll "turn off comments with Josh and will continue to do so if people are rude." As she later put it, "Do what you love with the ones you love. For me, that's Josh, my kids and a few close friends and co-workers."
Engaged! One day after celebrating Josh's birthday, Christina confirmed the duo's romance was anything but a flop.
The pair celebrated the spooktacular season with a visit to Universal Studios Halloween Horror Nights.
Just a few months later, they marked their first Christmas together.
"Building life together and enjoying some alone time," she captioned this sweet pic. "Love you Josh."
The following month, Christina enjoyed the "Best Valentine's weekend with my Valentine."
"Prayed for a man who was all man but still treated me like his queen," Christina wrote on Instagram just a few days before news of her and Josh's marriage broke. "Never give up."
In April 2022, fans learned that Christina and Josh privately tied the knot. They then celebrated their union with a wedding in Hawaii that September.
"Shared vows in front of family and our close friends," Christina wrote on Instagram Sept. 4. "Everything in life has led me to where I am right now, which is exactly where I want to be. My dream man on the dreamiest island. Maui holds a special place in my heart. What an amazing night filled with love."
It would later be revealed that the two actually wed in October 2021.
The real estate agent celebrated the HGTV star's birthday with a sweet tribute.
"Happy 40th Birthday to my absolute stunner of a wife!" he wrote on Instagram. "This woman has accomplished so much, inspired so many and continues to impress me daily. I can’t say enough about what an absolute force she is and what she is capable of. Christina is about to make her 40’s the best decade of her life and looking better than ever while doing it!I’m a lucky man and thank my lucky stars that she chose me to take this ride with her that is now our life. Ride or die baby, love you more than anything."
"Still going strong…" Josh wrote on Instagram alongside photos over the pair from over the past three years. "03/2024 ← 03/2023 ← 03/202← 03/2021."
In July 2024, Josh filed for divorce from Christina, citing "irreconcilable differences” as the reason for their split and her listing the same in her own court documents.
